John entered the CG industry at its infancy 25 years ago, and has spent the last 15 years in interactive entertainment pushing the visual boundaries in a variety of art leadership and management roles.
John has managed and provided strategic vision in the creation and growth of 3D tools and animation groups, motion capture studios, video post production facilities, and start-up companies, while staying connected to production realities ‘hands on’ in roles as an Art Director and CG Supervisor.
John’s passion for advancing 3D visuals is accomplished by advocating the roles of 3D artists and their relation to other disciplines, their team structures, the tools they use, and the workflows and processes from pre-production planning through to the end of post production while achieving visual quality and predictability.
John has contributed to raising the bar and defining quality in console game visuals and animation on over 20 AAA credited titles.
John’s other passions include underwater photography or heading to the track for performance driving practice.
